Travesty v2.0 A parody text generator This program takes in a source text file and scrambles it. The process for doing this produces similar results to a Markov chain algorithm, although it works differently. The algorithm starts by printing any N consecutive words (or letters) in the text. Then at every step it searches for any random occurrence in the original text of the last N words (or letters) already printed and then prints the next word or letter. Notes for use: Pattern length 2 - Produces gibberish 4 - is understandable 8 - is most like the input text Literary critic Hugh Kenner and computer scientist Joseph O'Rourke introduced their text scrambler "Travesty" in an issue of BYTE Magazine in 1984.
