Unfortunately, those signatures scan only bytes by the pre-set mask, and it is not possible to specify additional parameters. As the result, false triggering often occur. More complicated algorithms are usually strictly set in the program itself. Hence, to add a new complex detect one needs to recompile the entire project. No one, except the authors themselves, can change the algorithm of a detect. As time passes, such programs lose relevance without the constant support. Detect It Easy has totally open architecture of signatures. You can easily add your own algorithms of detects or modify those that already exist. This is achieved by using scripts. The script language is very similar to JavaScript and any person, who understands the basics of programming, will understand easily how it works. Possibly, someone may decide the scripts are working very slow. Indeed, scripts run slower than compiled code, but, thanks to the good optimization of Script Engine, this doesn't cause any special inconvenience. Double File Scanner 2.04 Double File Scanner 2.04 This tool allows for detecting duplicate files on your hard-drive quickly, based on SHA-1 hashes. 1. Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The purpose of this tool is scanning the selected directory or directories for duplicate files, i.e. files with identical content. Duplicate files are identified by first calculating the SHA-1 digest of each file and then looking for values that appear more than once. In particular, files with identical content are guaranteed to have the same SHA-1 digest, while files with differing content will have different SHA-1 values with very high certainty. All computed SHA-1 values are stored in a hash table, so collisions are found quickly and we do NOT need to compare every digest to every other one. Also, the files are processed concurrently in multiple "worker" threads in order to parallelize and speed-up the SHA-1 computations on multi-core processors. On our test machine it took ~15 minutes to analyse all the ~260,000 files on the system drive (~63.5 GB). During this operation ~44,000 duplicates were found. Once the scan is completed, the program provides commands to review, rename or delete the duplicate files manually. Alternatively, the "automatic clean-up" wizard may be invoked in order to remove ALL redundant files at a single blow. Optionally, the list of duplicates can be exported to the XML or INI format. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Platform Support ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following platforms are supported: - Windows 8 and 8.1, 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions - Windows 7, 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions - Windows XP, Service Pack 3 is required! Drive Speedometer 1.1.0 Drive Speedometer 1.1.0 Drive Speedometer is a program I made to help monitor the current read and writes speeds of your hard drives. Benefits include: When your system is running slow yet your CPU usage and memory usage are fine, it is normally the hard drive being maxed out. Now you will be able to keep an eye on the hard drive performance. When a drive is slowly dying it will run slower and slower. Being aware of what your normal drive speeds are and seeing those speed drop over time is a great indicator it is time to replace the drive. Being a performance nut myself I like knowing what my system is doing. When I have a program doing some work and appears to be hung up I can see if it is still reading or writing to the drive. This way I know the program isn't hung up and is still working. The program uses the Windows performance counters to pull the information. If you have disabled your performance counters I have included a reg file in the setup to enable them again. Run the reg file and reboot. Your performance counters will be working again. I have also included some pre made bar fill graphics. Including some to use when running the monitor in compact mode. You can of course make your own as well. |

It removes all currently non-present USB Storage Devices, Disks, CDROMs, Floppies, Storage Volumes and WPD devices from the device tree. Furthermore it removes orphaned registry items related to these device types. Started with parameter -T (like test) it shows which devices it would remove. DriveCleanup -T Started with admin privileges and without a parameter it does its job without further inquiry. To remove certain types of devices there are the parameters -U -D -C -F -V -W and -R, see DeviceCleanup.txt. Sample to remove abandoned registry entries only: drivecleanup -R Under x64 editions of Windows only the included x64 version works. Admin privileges are required for actual cleanup, without it requests to switch into the test mode. Since V1.0 it removes non-USB drives if they have a removal policy > 1 (EXPECT_ORDERLY_REMOVAL or EXPECT_SURPRISE_REMOVAL). When started standalone it waits for a keystroke at the end. DriveSort v1.242 DriveSort v1.242 DriveSort sorts the directory tables of a volume formatted in FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32. This sort orders the files on the disk according to a customizable order. Recent operating systems sort the files before showing them to the user, either by name, by size or by whatever the user choose. However, it is not always the case in embedded OSes on small portable devices like MP3 players. On these devices the lack of resources (CPU, memory) can lead their developers to make it display or play the files in the order in which they are on the disk. This order depends mostly of the order in which they were added to the disk, which is not convenient for the user. DriveSort can change this order to help such devices to play or view their files in the order you want, by putting them on the disk in a customizable order. DriveSort sorts files and folders according to various options available in the popup menu next to the sort icon. The order can then be saved to disk either folder by folder, or for all sub-folders. The comparison base: "Short name": sorts the files and directories according to the alphabetic order of their Short File Names [Default]. You know... like a virus. ;) The file is safe. DShutdown is a stand-alone program that allows you to easily shutdown and wake up local or remote PCs, with many specific options. DShutdown supports more than just standard shutdown options, there are options relating to "pure" shutdown (such as the "force after wait" option which causes a forced, but 'clear' shutdown). There are monitoring options that allow you to shutdown a PC after a particular application terminates (useful at the end of compressing several files). There are also options to shutdown a PC when Internet traffic reduces below a particular data-rate (useful to shutdown a PC when it has finished a large download). It is also possible to intercept a shutdown request, initiated by the user or an application, and to then execute the shutdown request with selected options from DShutdown. (For example: to simultaneously shut down all Lan PCs when the server shuts down). DShutdown doesn't force a power-off without logging off and saving settings.
